THREADS no3

2021 | 17” x 17” | Pencil, colored-pencil, thread on wood panel

This piece brings forward nine concentric circles, measured to the point of harmony and interconnectedness between them. For Tia, this formation of nine symbolizes herself at the center being surrounded by her eight great-grandparents.

THREADS no4

2022 | 25” x 19” | Pencil, colored-pencil, thread on wood panel

Expanding on the interconnected concentric circles, this piece speaks of complexity. The geometrical foundation lends itself to countless patterns derived from a single origin. From pencil guides to a repeating circle pattern in colored pencil, to blue stripes, black and white diamonds, and the asymmetrical yellow winding form - diversity co-exists around and between each other.

THREADS no5

2022 | 25” x 19” | Pencil, colored-pencil, thread on wood panel

This piece begins with the same interconnected concentric circles as no.4 and reveals an entirely different response to playing and moving around the geometrical foundation.

THREADS no2

2021 | 17” x 17” | Pencil, colored-pencil, thread on wood panel
